Who's doing what for MIRACLES

MIRACLES Caseworker, Sharon Hansell, has persuaded WELLINGBOROUGH GOLF CLUB, to adopt MIRACLES as one of their charities on an ongoing basis. Last year they raised almost £5,000 with lots of fundraising plans for the months ahead.

Pictured (right) are just three of the Miracles team in the London Marathon who raised a magnificent £18,000 after their run in April 2010. The team, organised by Sylvia and Rafa Gil-Alberdi ran courtesy of Children with Leukaemia who allowed Miracles to utilise some of their allocation of spaces. Team members were Javier Zurita, Paco Moreno, Alvaro Baranda, Hector Garcia Armero and Moncha Siaba.

Anna Bean, wife of Miracles' Hon Treasurer Robert Bean, raised over £1,100 with her fundraising for Miracles in the 5K Race for Life she recently completed.

JUST-WALK FOR MIRACLES.

Just Walk May 2010

A total of twelve Miracle walkers including Theo and Robert set out on Saturday 15th to tackle the various distances on offer across the South Downs from Goodwood Racecourse. Most were content to complete 10km but intrepid John and Nathan Cooper signed up for 20km while Sarah Barclay completed 40km with her husband James.

It was a hot and sunny day and, during the 3km climb back to the finish, Theo was heard to say that “she would rather be in labour!” She completed the walk in 2hrs 40mins while Sarah Barclay managed the 40km distance in 7hrs 45mins, a superb effort.

Sarah managed to raise over £1000 in sponsorship, for which we are eternally grateful, while the others pushed the total raised to almost £2500.

The race is scheduled for 7th May 2011 but anyone wanting to walk can have my place!!

As part of their local carnival week, Jacqui and Roger Jacques of The Seaview Hotel, East Preston, hosted a Fun Horse Race Night for Miracles which raised £2,400.

Newcomer to the village, cake artist, Melanie Marley, presented Miracles with one of her special occasion cakes in the shape of Beechers Brook! The cake measured 16'x 30' with all the horses sculptured out of solid chocolate.

Worth £580, the cake was auctioned on the night for donation to The Lavinia Norfolk Centre of Angmering School, many of whose handicapped students are Miracles beneficiaries.

Ross Dunstall of The Seaview Hotel, East Preston, celebrated his 21st Birthday with a sky dive for Miracles. Ross, along with his Mum, Salena, and his two brothers Charlie and Matthew enjoyed every second of their dare-devil jump while raising a goodly sum for Miracles. Well done all of you. So what's next?
