On Saturday 28th May George Hornung (son of Trustee Charles Hornung) organised a Parent-Pupil Croquet Match at Ampleforth College to raise funds for Miracles. A tremendous effort, a great turnout and some £1,000 raised for the Miracles Centre in Bosnia. Hearty thanks to all concerned!
Despite keen opposition from The Spanish Armada and The Gay Gordons (our Caseworker and the event organiser, Michelle Leonard's team) it was Team Grunberg who won the inaugural Miracles Raft Race at Southwater Watersports Centre in West Sussex.
Despite an early shower of rain which dampened the spectators, there were still enough volunteers to brave the water on their home-made rafts!
After downing some welcoming beers and enjoying a delicious barbecue a good time was had by all - especially young Lourdes Hornung who chose the winning name for the Giant Teddy Bear which was coveted by all the youngsters there in force.
