La Fondation Miracles Suisse was created in September 2008 to assist in this vital task.

The following is a report from Marie-Antoinette Pereire, President of La Fondation Miracles Suisse, on her return from a visit to Miracles Bosnia in October.....

On behalf of La Fondation Miracles Suisse, its Secretary, Ingrid Tissot, and I paid a short visit to The Miracles Centre for Prosthesis and Care in Bosnia which is supported by the Fondation.

The Centre is situated just outside the city of Mostar and is surrounded by beautiful green mountains. Sadly, though, these mountains are not as peaceful as they look as they are still covered in landmines.

We stayed in the well appointed visitor's flat on the first floor of the Centre where we enjoyed being guests for two days, spending as much time as possible with Matthew and Elvira who run the Centre and Nihad, the CPO, who makes and fits the limbs.

On the morning of our departure we were delighted to meet two smiling and strong young men who have recently been fitted with new legs and were back for a check up. They both told us how the ill fitted prosthetic leg they had been using before had been restrictive and how now, with the limbs provided by the Miracles Centre, their lives had changed for the better and they could now walk, run, cycle, play football and look forward to a normal life.

Meeting the men, women and children whom the Miracles Centre has helped is always a great joy. Indeed, it was the highlight of our trip since, they, after all, are our Raison d'Etre.
