Miracles Covid-19 Appeal
Ideas for fundraising at home
Donation
A simple donation makes all the difference – large or small – one-off or monthly. Every penny goes to a family who will be really struggling over the next few weeks.
Pub quiz
Set up a pub quiz with your friends and family – everybody’s doing it – fun and easy. Everything you need to know you can find in this rather wonderful Esquire article.
Everyone puts in a pledge (£10 maybe?) – the winner takes 30% - second place 10% and Miracles takes the rest :)
3 Peaks challenge
Maybe you were all set to run the London Marathon or climb Kilimanjaro before the pandemic cancelled everything?
Well don't be disheartened - run the Miracles 3 peak challenge from your home - the equivalent of climbing UK's 3 highest mountains. We have taken inspiration from John Griffin - he climbed the equivalent height of Everest up and down his own stairs raising funds for a food bank charity. Full details of the challenge are here.
Donate your birthday
If you can’t go out to celebrate or your family or friends can’t come over to join you on your day, why not invite them to make a donation in your name to Miracles?
Facebook birthday fundraisers are a great way to raise money. Facebook gives you the tools to run a birthday fundraising campaign online amongst your friends and contacts. And it’s free: all the money is donated to the charity.
Miracles Big Night In
Join us for dinner from the comfort of your own home on Saturday 30 May 2020. The live auction is open - here.
Miracles supporters from all over the country will be sitting down to a beautiful home cooked meal (or delivered if you prefer) to support our work. We can even provide the menu plus ideas for games.
We are also providing an auction for the evening - some fabulous prizes exclusively for you. You can find more information and an invitation here.
Declutter
Unwanted CD’s, books, games cluttering your house? Join our growing army of supporters as they declutter their homes and sell their unwanted items on EBay or through Ziffit (using Ziffit you don’t even need to leave the house – they pick up!).
Full instructions on Ziffit website - it is very quick and easy.
Donate your commute
Ok – not strictly a fundraising challenge but still a pretty cool idea.
If you are saving money on your daily commute to work or if you are a season ticket holder and have secured your refund from your rail or bus company – why not donate some of that to a charity?
Donate here and let us know what you miss about your journey and what you don’t – we would love to hear from you - email.
Beard challenge
The isolation beard challenge – make May the month you grow a beard or moustache – set up a Virgin Giving page, let your friends and family know and get growing (don't forget to ask for sponsorship :)
Take lots of pictures and send them to us so we can show off your magnificence on our social media pages.
