Providing Hope When Needed

Miracles is more than a charity; we're a lifeline for families facing the unimaginable. Working closely with professional bodies like Young Lives vs Cancer and Great Ormond Street Hospital, social services, and various children's centre's, we step in when families have nowhere else to turn.

The Reality We Face

There are nearly half a million sick or disabled children in England and Wales*

Nearly all of them - 99.1% - live at home with their families

34% live in households where there is no adult in paid work, compared with 18% of children who are not sick or disabled

There has been a steep rise in the number of babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions in England. The absolute number of these children has almost trebled in the last 17 years from 32,975 in 2001/02 to 86,625 in 2017/18. **

In England and Wales, nearly half a million sick or disabled children live at home, with 34% in households without paid work and 32% in single-parent families.
