LOVE LONDON

James Burton

We're launching a celebration of everything that makes our city extraordinary – LOVE LONDON - from its vast range of architecture to its secret gardens and alleys, the sprawling parks, our iconic tube, the river and its ancient banks, the bridges, the boroughs, and the majestic London plane trees.

Feed London was launched during the Covid crisis in 2020, when much of our city was brought to a standstill – children and their families were confined to apartments and flats for weeks. Rates of domestic violence soared, education suffered, social connections broken down. Now, we believe it's time to reclaim these streets and actively re-embrace the city that is our home.

Join us every Friday! Share glimpses of what you love (or even love/hate!) about the capital by sending us a photograph of your London to james@miraclesthecharity.org, along with a line about why it means so much to you. We'd especially love to see Love London from the perspective of its children - it's their future, not ours.

Today's Feature: Arnold Circus - Could this be London's best-kept secret? Built from the rubble of the old Nichol slums east of Spitalfields in 1900, this beautiful circular garden is a testament to London's transformative history. London Plane trees stand sentinel over the elegant Victorian architecture, leading to purpose-built schools and apartments.

"Why do I love it? For the ghosts that join me there – especially late at night – where, with a slight turn of my head, I can catch a glimpse of old London...that other world."
