Harmonie-Rose was rushed into hospital on September 28 2014, just before her first birthday. She was suffering from meningococcal septicaemia and was put on a life support machine and given a ten percent chance of survival by doctors, who later had to remove all of her limbs due to sepsis.
“Life can change within a blink of an eye,” said Freya, her mother “We were told to take the day, hour by hour and to prepare to say goodbye to our beautiful baby girl.
But Harmonie fought back, she never gave up. After her recovery, volunteers helped the family move from their third-floor flat to a specially adapted house - altered to make it suitable for Harmonie-Rose, to help her become as independent as possible.
We are so proud to have met this amazing girl and to have been able to support her with a family respite break at one of our holiday caravans in Selsey, West Sussex. Harmonie had a wonderful time playing at the fun fair and trampoline park.
Like so many of the families we support we will keep in close contact and we will continue to support as Harmonie grows up.
